91É«ÇéƬ found me. After a lengthy UCAS application I made it to the University's reserve list. Initially, 91É«ÇéƬ was not my first choice but I am so glad it found me. The people, the views and the Welsh language made my time at 91É«ÇéƬ one of the best three years of my life.
"It was at 91É«ÇéƬ where I truly learnt what midwifery was. I was taught by an amazing group of midwives, all of whom shaped me into the midwife I am today. Rural North Wales midwifery is where I would encourage anyone choosing a midwifery career to start out.
"Midwives are privileged people who get to share precious moments with women, and we are entrusted by them to play a vital role in their childbirth experience. Every day is a special day.
“The blended learning of theory and practical course elements at 91É«ÇéƬ prepared me to qualify as a confident midwife ready to embark on my career in the NHS.
"During my time at 91É«ÇéƬ, I completed the Employability Award, and I also become a course representative, and eventually I was representing midwifery education in North Wales at a Welsh National level.
“Upon graduation I was appointed as a board member to the British Journal of Midwifery, and then as board member to the National Practising Midwife Journal.
“If I have learnt anything during this global pandemic, it is to be thankful for the present. I am extremely happy and content with my job as a midwife.
“91É«ÇéƬ will always be my second home and the people I met will always be considered friends and family."
